Have you ever thought how great it would be to be to get paid to travel ... and what it would cost?

Here are the lists:

You'd love it! Being a Locum Tenens Physician, you'd get (among other things)

1) flexibility
2) to meet A LOT of people in different parts of the country
3) paid to take a working vacation to some new place
4) to choose how long you want to work there
5) to be a short-term local, not a tourist
6) to have an excuse for not knowing the local custom ("I'm not from here...")
7) to leave car payments and mortgages to someone else
8) to try new restaurants
9) different scenery
10) always an adventure

But, a Locum Tenens Physician cannot have (among a host of other things):

10) a magazine subscription
9) a book collection
8) a hobby that requires a room or a yard
7) a sailboat
6) a garden
5) patients that call me their doctor
4) a Bible Study to lead
3) a pet
2) a girlfriend

but the #1 thing a Locum Tenens Physician cannot have is

a home.




One day I will have a home, and a hobby, and yes, I'll splurge and get a magazine subscription.
